Featuring Your Favorites
Rockywold and Deephaven Camps each have their own rustic Dining Hall nestled in the woods along the shores of Squam Lake. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet-style in the Rockywold and Deephaven dining rooms, each family occupying its own table. Food is both plentiful and varied including at least two entrées, "kid-friendly" choices, and plenty of vegetarian options at each meal. The kitchen staff is also happy to make up box lunches for hikers and picnickers.
RDC operates on a Full American Plan which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner for the number of guests for which your cottage is rated. If your guests exceed that number, you are responsible for their meals and no credit is given for meals eaten elsewhere.
RDC DINING POLICIES
Seating
Each family is assigned a table for the duration of their stay. Tables are usually designated with a name tag for the family member who placed the reservation. We do our best to accommodate special seating requests, however guests with seniority have preference. Because of high demand and a tendency to overcrowding, seating next to the windows is limited to no more than eight per table.
Supervision of Children
Please see that young children are supervised at all times and accompanied by an adult at all food and beverage serving areas. To prevent the spread of infectious diseases, it is extremely important that children and adults wash their hands frequently, but especially before and after each meal.
Beware of hazards in the dining rooms; hot steam tables, waffle makers and coffee urn, sharp utensils, swinging kitchen doors, etc. Absolutely no running. Noisy or out-of-control children should be taken from the dining area so that all guests may enjoy their meals. We encourage guests with very young children to consider eating during the first half hour of the meal.
Dress Code
Over the last several decades, the dining room dress code has become more and more relaxed in keeping with the general trends of society. Most guests have appreciated the greater informality, but recently there have been occasions when the level of casualness has, in the minds of many guests, become too great. We would like to remind all of our guests of the RDC dress code and ask for your cooperation in following these simple guidelines:
No caps, tank tops, bathing suits or bare feet at any meals. Casual sportswear is acceptable for breakfast and lunch, but more appropriate dress is recommended for dinner (non-athletic shorts, pants, collared shirt for men; dresses, skirts, pants, non-athletic shorts for women.)
Smoking, cell phones and alcohol
Smoking, cell phones and alcohol are not allowed in any of our dining rooms.
